Anel is doing well!

Medically all seems to be well. She’s on the anti-seizure meds until the blood is absorbed into her head, probably several weeks. A CT Scan is scheduled for 1/10 and several follow-up appointments that week. I’ll keep you posted.

Therapy is in full swing. She went back on Tuesday. Insurance has her covered until the end of March; we’ll reassess then. Her speech is the most noticeable setback. We’re grateful the setbacks are minimal.

Home life has been well. She knows our routine, and we’re falling back into stride.

Thank you for your kindness and prayers.

Wednesday 5/11

Anel is doing great.

In the mornings I use small plastic medicine cups and divvy out our vitamins and Anel’s meds. Mind you one of her meds is a controlled substance. Well, today I was off and yep, I threw back her cup of vitamins and meds. It didn’t take long for my eyes to get heavy and swear I could feel a wet blanket laid on my head. Anel thought it was so funny and I’m sure there’s a smidgen of, “Uh-huh big boy. Try to say your alphabet backward now.”

She’s doing great. House is coming along. Kids are doing well. Brick by brick.

Much love.

Friday 5/6

Anel is doing great.

We just crossed the year mark and I’ve been reliving each day. The facilities, the decisions, the talks with the kids, and friends loving on us. It all comes back with emotions in tow. It’s been encouraging, to say the least, to see how well she’s doing now. My partner is coming back. She’s been busy stacking bricks.

Below is another video showing her walking at school. She’s currently walking about 600 feet a day. The wrap on her right foot keeps her toes up. She’s still working on getting full control over her ankle.

Living with Anel

My wonderful wife of 20 years had her second stroke on 4/27/21. She’s supported by many loving friends and family. This site is to share the updates. — Ken
